One of the most vital physical properties that needs to be measured in materials testing is hardness, with our Rockwell Hardness Testing Service we can help with this. The sample’s hardness characteristics will determine its uses and limitations, and its deployment in certain applications.
Rockwell Hardness Testing Service determines the hardness of the material and the strength of it too. Using a sphere indentor a minor load is applied to the sample material, followed by the application of a major load, which causes an indentation. The depth of penetration by the indentor with the major load is compared to the depth of penetration by the indentor with the minor load, which determines the hardness of the material. The smaller the indentation created, the greater the hardness of the material.
Rockwell hardness and other hardness testing methods are available at ITRI Innovation and cater for a wide range of materials with different hardness values e.g. polymers, alloys and ceramics.
If you’re looking for a Rockwell hardness testing service, we provide a fast turnaround time, offer very competitive rates and we have the expertise to help you interpret the results if required.
